On the 17th September the Church of the Golden Light lost a very dear friend. Eve Higgins, the 5th Minister of the Church passed peacefully away in North Shore Hospital following a brief illness. And on Saturday the 20th September a Celebration of Eve’s life was held at Morrison’s in Henderson. I was privileged to lead this celebration and wonderful memories of Eve were shared by family and friends. Eve loved to sing and music and song were a big part of this celebration.

Eve had been a Minister of the Church since April 1986 and had worked tirelessly for both the Church and Spiritualism until she retired in December 2012. During this time Eve was known all over Auckland as a top Medium who gave hope and a direction to large numbers of people.

Following Eve’s retirement the Church Leadership Group took on a new look. Minister Glenys Lindsay and Bill Polhill were joined by Warwick Harvey and Irene Heijboer, and since then Steve Moss has completed the Group. Each person has enthusiastically embraced the direction that we envisage for our Church.

However the legacy that Eve has left us all is her hard work and dedication to the Golden Light.
